I believe my children are a gift from God
I believe they follow paths that I have trod

I believe character can be built or be destroyed
By words and actions I've employed.

I believe values are fashioned in their youth
Be they refined and polished or uncouth

I believe that no money can e'er replace
Time spent one on one and face to face.

I believe before God I'll appear
And answer how I've raised my children here.

I believe that to a great degree
It is my responsibility

What will be their destiny
Who'll pray for them ?...It's up to me 

I believe that children need much love
Therefore, I kneel before my God above

Oh please, dear Lord, I pray, make me
The kind of parent I ought to be.
